TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT

Trauma Intensives in California

When the past keeps showing up in the present, more time is not always the answer. Focused time is.

A trauma intensive is a block of concentrated, trauma-informed support, held over a few days, that helps you work through what still weighs on you, at a pace that feels safe.

We support people across California who feel ready to do this deeper work with steady, skilled guidance.

The Basics

How a Trauma Intensive Works

Instead of a weekly hour, a trauma intensive gives you longer sessions held close together. That continuity lets the work go deeper without restarting each week.

This trauma intensive program is built in a clear order: safety first, then focused work, then time to settle and take it in.

If you would like the full picture before you begin, our guide to what a trauma intensive involves walks through it step by step.

How a Trauma Intensive Works

Could a Trauma Intensive Help You?

You do not need to relive everything. You need focused, well-held time to work through what still affects you, with someone trained to keep it safe.

In those cases, other care comes first, and we will help you find it. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or call or text the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Your Experience

What the Work Feels Like

There is no forcing here. Your guide learns your history and what feels safe first, then shapes the work around you.

You set the pace. You will have grounding tools to use in the room, space to slow down, and support the whole way through. Recovery tends to move in stages, not a straight line.

The aim is steady, lasting relief, not pushing through pain.

What a Trauma Intensive Can Support

Attune-iN offers trauma-informed support across California and in-person trauma support in Palo Alto, for a wide range of experiences. The work is whole-person and centered on safety.

We provide somatic trauma support across California that works with the body, not only words, and healing childhood trauma support for wounds that reach back to early life. If you are unsure whether the past is at play, the signs of childhood trauma in adults are a useful place to start.

This trauma support program in California can also help with grief, life transitions, and the patterns that keep old pain alive.

Trauma work asks for trust. Ours is led by Dr. Shilpa Kapoor, a licensed clinical psychologist, and grounded in safety, consent, and care.

You meet online across California or in person at our Palo Alto practice, and you work with the same person throughout, so nothing gets lost along the way.

For the first time, I felt safe enough to look at what I had been carrying. A few focused days gave me back a sense of myself.

Trauma Intensives: Your Questions Answered

What is a trauma intensive?

It is focused, trauma-informed support held over a few days, rather than one weekly hour. It moves through safety, focused work, and integration, at a pace you control.

When it is guided by a trauma-informed professional, safety comes first. The work is built around grounding, pacing, and consent, and it is not about reliving everything at once.

It varies by person and goal. Many run across a few days, with longer sessions each day, followed by integration and follow-up.

It is trauma-informed support and skills work, not a replacement for medical or mental health treatment. It can work alongside your existing care, and we will say so if treatment should come first.

Yes. We offer sessions online across California and in person at our Palo Alto practice, so you can do the work from wherever you feel most comfortable.

If a past experience still shapes your days and you feel ready to go deeper with support, it may fit. A gentle consultation helps us decide together, and it is fine if now is not the time.
